Review:
A fantastic cast made this the must see movie for 2001, unfortunately it didn't have the balls to back it up. The story is a take on Jack the Ripper (Depp) so we watch him bump off hookers of course. We also get the other hand with the Police who are of course trying to solve the mystery, and we get the perspective of a prostitute (Graham) who just happens to be the object of the Inspector's affections. The fact that it's a period piece keeps it interesting along with a competent and likeable cast, yet still something feels really absent here. It's not exactly horrific feeling and it's not exactly action pact...in fact the slow pacing is distracting and a huge deterrent from an otherwise decent film.
