Review:
Even though it drags in places, I truly do like this film one heck of a lot. It makes me laugh, makes me shrivel my face into the "eww" position, and it's just plain 'ole fun. This was also one of my first Italian horror films, and it certainly started me down a fabulous path as it made me watch more. This should please nearly everyone with gore galore, some ridiculous situations and a story that makes sense and doesn't leave questions at the end. A woman purchases an old hotel to fix up and turn into a newer resort. Unfortunately her Real Estate Agent failed to mention that the basement has a doorway to hell! There is ample opportunity for injuries and bad things to happen and rest assured, they do every time. At least there is some back story to why ("some"), and there is a buttload of gore. We have eye injuries, acid injuries ooh I just can't spoil the rest. Originally in Italian but dubbed for your pleasure, The Beyond is just a must see for those who can stand ze blood!
