Review:
I think that this is a classic in it's own way, mind you it's a cheese filled ride with several predictable and silly moments. Of course this stars the Corys, Haim plays the new kid in town who's older brother happens to have been turned into a half vampire. Other Cory is a local vampire hunter (and nerd) and along with his friend they try to convince Haim of the existence of vampires in town. Of course he's skeptical, but not as skeptical as the boys' Mom who is really busy dating her new beau. The vampires in question here have a groovy lair and they appear like normal punks (or rather members of Platinum Blonde) but most of the time they just like to annoy the local townspeople. A battle definitely ensues here as Haim's brother can only repress his vampire feelings for so long, and his brother is in trouble with the other vampires as well. It's got action, several laughs (usually at something ridiculously '80s, like the thrusting singer of the band on the beach playing the saxophone) but I think that's what makes this such a classic in a way. It's cute, it all comes together and it's very easy to watch despite the fact that it's far from scary, it's a good teen romp.
