Review:
Well this one is rather disturbing, especially considering how innocent and young Jodie Foster appears in the film. I think the other reason this is so disturbing is because something like this has definitely happened in real life (although I don't think this is based on a true story). It's also filmed very realistically, and it's simply hard to watch. What the heck am I talking about? Well Jodie Foster's character is raped graphically in a bar, and not only that but the rapist is cheered on by the other Men in the bar. Seriously, some disgusting stuff here! It's not all shock, as most of it is sort of aftermath and courtroom stuff but it's definitely a compelling and outraging watch and of course it's brilliantly acted.
It's based on a true story. The girls real name was Cheryl Ann Araujo and she was raped in 1983. 6 men were accused of rape and 4 were convicted. About 6-9 years of prison, each.
