Review:
Australia had better be proud of this one, it's such a lush desert backdrop that it's positively stunning! It's a post-apocalyptic thing about the world being pretty much destroyed and gasoline is at a premium! Mel Gibson plays a crafty drifter who makes friends along the way despite trying very hard to be selfish. He ends up finding a town that is in trouble because the evil rebels are coming to attack them for their gasoline, will Mel stay back and help them fight for humanity? You probably know the answer, but it's a really high effect and high quality picture filled with action and violence for those who like that sort of thing of course. I never saw the original "Mad Max" film but it does have a fast catch up at the beginning so you really don't have to see it first. I do want to see it now of course after seeing this one, it's one heck of a visionary flick!
