Review:
I'd been trying to see this film for many many years but was never able to find a copy until recently. Perhaps it was because I only knew it as "Island Of The Damned" and the most common way to find this is from the title "Who Can Kill A Child", but perhaps it's just not a very common movie. It should be, although it begins incredibly slow and with relatively amateurish acting and everything else, the second half of the film is simply incredible and it made up for every moment of slowness from earlier on in the film. The story is about a young couple (the Woman is pregnant) who vacation on this remote island for peace. The Husband had been there before years ago, but things were a little different then. See now the town is pretty much deserted except for the odd random child who rarely speaks and grins eerily. They finally see an old man in the distance and then they see a child chase him into the alley and beat him. The Husband follows the child and learns that the place is loaded with creepy grinning children...who are playing pinata with the old man using a sickle....seriously. I don't in any way want to ruin this story because it is highly creative and it gets frickin' awesome, but I will say that there are some insane deaths, and even some revenge against the children and it even has a shock ending....this film has everything (except an interesting first half of the movie). Be patient and watch this, find it however you must, it is charming and entirely something different than anything else.
