Review:
This was a very strange film, or rather very strange for a Hammer picture. Still it offers the familiarity of Mr. Christopher Lee as the Duc de Richeleau. Duc an his friend Rex find their young friend (I think) Simon who has been clearly dabbling in witchcraft. They try to protect him and rid of him of his evil doings, but of course he is too powerful. The end up getting entwined in a battle of good against evil, and well it's quite a scene. They really tried with the whole devil effects and they did throw some fun violence at us so it was quite satisfying. It's hard to find a devil movie that has set rules and structure but here it is and it's a joy to watch even though it's yes I'm gonna say it again, strange.
