Review:
Hmm, well not quite what I expected in a few ways. Firstly it's a frickin' confusing movie, I'm not sure if it was just me, but I had to look it up after I watched it to try to understand what happened. The fact that I sat there with a confused look on my face the entire time definitely detracted from enjoyment of the film. This one is very important however as it set the standard for nearly every violent slasher that followed. The story is somewhat about an old woman who has a bunch of money who is killed by her husband for the fortune. From there a bunch of family members start violently and graphically (yes gore fans you will really like this) murdering each other to get nearer to the money. That's what I now understand the plot to be, at the time I wondered why everyone was being bumped off...it doesn't really make the most sense. Another explanation I read is that the bay is evil therefore everyone around the bay is evil...erm? Anyhow I'm sure I'll try this another time knowing what I know now because it was beautifully shot, the effects are impressive and I do like violent deaths. Definitely one to view but if you are confused, don't worry you aren't alone!
