Review:
So a zombie film from Hong Kong this is. Not sure what to expect? Well neither was I, but this is far more comedic than it is horrific. It's actually like an Asian version of "Dawn Of The Dead" only not as well made, not scary in any way and the special effects weren't so special. Still this was high octane, well intentioned and the characters are highly amusing and it's an easy watch. The story revolves around some zombie-tainted soft drink which infects some guy who in turn spreads zombiesm all over the darned place. Our main characters are two mall rats who work in a video store and they do somewhat remind me of Beavis & Butthead only less moronic (slightly). They meet a young girl and rob her (one with a bucket on his head) and take her ring, then pick her up and date her. By this point the zombiesm has spread around the mall and it becomes a survival mission. It's colorful, the dialog is pretty funny (intentionally so I'd imagine but the ridiculous dubbed voices don't help either). If it weren't for the cheapness of the effects I think this movie would be a whole lot more regarded but as is, it's a fun little romp in zombieland.
