Review:
Well this is pretty much exactly as expected only perhaps a little more fun! Our story is about a scientific team going to investigate the hand of a mysterious creature found washed ashore. There is a bit of a dramatic love story thing with the female scientist Kay, see her boyfriend is on board, and her ex-boyfriend (I think) or possibly just jealous fellow in love with her is also aboard which causes more than just a little tension. Fortunately for us the love story is a pretty minor part of the tale. The scientists end up in the black lagoon of course where the creature lives, and it ends up falling in love with Kay too! We have plenty of underwater scenes (that are really marvelously shot) with the creature stalking people but it's not that tame because he does manage to obtain a few victims. Overall the film is entirely satisfying, imaginative and easy to watch. It's certainly not disturbing in any way, but the sort of sexual tension between the monster and Kay is a little surprising! Definitely worth a view or too, tons of sci-fi horror fun!
