Review:
Sort of a slow moving picture but the thing is it really does pay off in shocking proportions in the end if you have the patience. At first we meet the buxom young Stephanie Beacham who has just married a young man and moved into his mansion. There are pictures everywhere, and she starts seeing a bloodied hand crawling around and an eyeless and handless ghost. Of course her husband thinks she's nuts, but there is more to the story for nobody will talk about the woodsman that lives on the property. The maids that do know things try to help and end up dead and the situation seems hopeless of course until the disturbing truth comes out. It's seriously slow but beautifully shot and costumed (it's set in the 1700s) but definitely worth your while if you are patient, even if it's not the best Amicus picture out there.
