Review:
Going into this one, I knew it was a video nasty and as such I expected some ridiculous gore. Surely you've heard about the fetus eating scene in this one, and if you haven't....there is a fetus eating scene. Even so this is one of the most boring films I've ever seen. The characters couldn't be less interesting, wooden and simply boring, and although the actual story idea isn't bad the execution is dreadful. Somehow cobwebs on the wall and what my cats were doing was infinitely more interesting than this darned movie. Now I'm going to describe the plot and I assure you that it will sound more interesting than it actually is. A man and his wife and son end up on a raft shipwrecked without food. The husband then eats his wife and son and becomes a weirdo island cannibal who preys on folks unfortunate enough to wind up there. Enter boat full of young adults without personalities. They stumble around the semi-deserted island but of course cannibal man ends up killing most of them. One of them is pregnant which is where the fetus munching thing comes from. Now that I've described it as something interesting I feel compelled to also mention that the gore (which is extremely limited in this film) looks cheesy and fake, and the film is shot so poorly it's even hard to tell what is going on in places. There are many excellent Italian films and there are many excellent gore films but this fails in every possible manner. I definitely recommend you watch the fetus scene on youtube and ignore this dull piece of junk.
