Review:
Alright, alright, I know this is a favorite of most every horror fans but I've honestly seen it SO many times that one more could cause me to explode with annoyance. The first few times I saw it, it was a 4.5 star movie, so I'll leave that as is. What is it? It's the informal third movie in the Evil Dead trilogy. Somehow Ash gets transported back to medieval times, and ends up under attack before they decide he is their saviour (because of his futuristic gadgets hmmm). He winds up in an adventure filled journey trying to get the Necronomicon back in order to save them. Ash is a bumbling anti-hero of sorts and it leads to comical pandemonium. It really is quite well done, and well thought out and all of that. The scare factor is a literal 0, because it's basically one big action slap-stick romp. Still the effects and that actual sets and costuming and story are pretty darned fantastic, and better than most horror films so those extra reasons push this one above and beyond.
