Review:
I like the actors involved, I like the real story, I like De Palma and I was darned excited about getting to see this in the theatre. That is until I actually had to force myself to sit through more than two hours of this darned thing. Somehow what should have been a really interesting movie became watching people smoke and talk...I know it's supposed to be in the style of film-noir but I usually find those boring too. This however is an all new low in boring, nothing happens....really nothing until the last little while in the movie and by that time all I could do was look at my watch thinking of my escape. The even bigger problem is that all that boring dialog I mentioned earlier really has nothing to do with the plot...and I mean really nothing. Character development isn't always a bad thing, except for when the characters are as boring as dry toast. I think this is the absolute worst movie that I've seen any of these actors in and it's De Palma's worst as well (from what I've seen of course). I seriously recommend reading a book on this matter or even watching a documentary on tv, just not this movie...for your own safety!
