I knew this was going to be disturbing going into it, I knew there were disturbing scenes of animal slaughter (for real) but somehow it was better than I had expected. Yes the scenes of animal brutality are nearly impossible to take and unnecessary (even moreso here than in "Cannibal Ferox"). I feel it only fair to warn you that you will see a snake die for real (not too disturbing if you don't like snakes), some sort of rat monkey thing (which screams horribly) and most disturbingly...the turtle death (they basically dismember the entire thing). Honestly the plot for this wasn't too terrible, two men are sent into the jungle to befriend the natives and get back the video tape from four earlier news people. The mission is successful and the last 3/4 of the movie is basically watching the tape pieced together with a bit of interjection on the behalf of their bosses wondering if they should air it or not. The message seems to be, don't fuck with the natives and a good one at that. We find out that the news crew sent over were anything but nice to the natives and they deserved what they got. This does have some gore which is relatively well done (especially the jungle sores...ewww), the story wraps up nicely and makes sense and actually aside from the animal thing it's very easy to watch, and entertaining. I think I prefer "Cannibal Ferox" by a slight margin but this is definitely worth your time as well.
