Review:
This is one hell of a remake, I really enjoyed the first Cat People, but I enjoyed this one too. I liked that they kept the style as the 40's meets the '80s, very clever and interesting. Nastassja was perfect as the seemingly innocent virgin who comes to live with her brother to look for work. Of course her brother is a leopard who begs her for sex and who kills when he can. She is in denial about her heritage, but when she starts to fall in love things become quite clear for her. This has some great effects, some good gore, some beautiful scenery and shots and a good style as well. It is only a bit too slow (especially towards the end) and could be a bit shorter for improvement. Also the whole romance thing is erm a bit drawn out. Although I'm sure this should appeal to most people (especially those wanting to see Nastassja naked a bunch) will find something here to like. It's just with a little bit of tweaking this could have been a masterpiece! As is it's still a really good picture that definitely should be seen, especially for the cat like action sequences...meow!
