Review:
So this marks the second time I've seen it so now I know that if you have seen a lot of horror films and classics you'll pick up on the hommages and enjoy it more. See first time I saw it I was perhaps about seven years old, and didn't really get many of the jokes so I didn't enjoy it nearly as much as this time around. The story is about a futuristic '80s mall that has "killbots" as night security guards. Well there is an electrical storm which happened to turn them from protective to murderous. It just so happened that three couples decide to have a date in the mall that night making out in the furniture store until they are attacked. It's part "Valley Girl", part "Short Circuit", part "Dawn Of The Dead" and well various other parts of other films, but it's quite entertaining. It likely even served as some inspiration for "Robocop". The big trouble here is that this isn't scary and the attacking killbots look silly and non-threatening. They do try a bit with gore and even an exploding head and there are some cute chase scenes and whatnot. If you want a cute and funny horror film with still some blood but don't mind low budget stuff then I'd definitely recommend this one to you.
