Review:
This was kind of like a cross between "The Dead Zone" and "Carrie" which is a pretty darned good combination really. We have Irving (who oddly played Carrie sympathizer Sue Snell in the original version of Carrie) who this time around gets to have the powers (which amount to telekinesis...the same thing Carrie had by the way). She isn't alone though, Douglas plays a Father who's Son happens to also have psychic powers and is much like Irving's character. Thing is Douglas' Son has been kidnapped during a dramatic explosive and action pact opening to the film. Although the film isn't entirely exciting the beginning and the end (which is awesome and bloody for those who are patient) make this a must see even if the middle could use a little work. Also a little shortening of it's length would have improved things a little too, but I really didn't have too much trouble sitting through it. It's quite well done and the acting and casting is nearly perfect, this has enough to please most fans of any kind of film and I'm not really sure why it isn't refenced more frequently.
