Review:
This movie is one hell of an experience and although it's very long, it sure doesn't feel like it. We meet a couple who's young girls have been slaughtered, they find John Coffey (like the drink only not spelled the same) holding them and sobbing. Of course they jump to the conclusion that he is guilty, and he's moved to death row. Here we meet Hanks and the other likeable cast of guards, and even one arrogant jerk of a guard named Percy. At first they are afraid of Coffey because he's huge, but they learn he's a dear sweet man who has been wrongly convicted. They also learn that he has the power to heal! It's a magical, touching and depressing story that should reach nearly anyone (I managed to not cry but just barely). I've seen this several times and I'd definitely say this is one of King's best adaptations!
