Review:
I actually wasn't familiar with the story so I figured why not start with the original film right? Well it's silent, it's tinted many different neato colors and it's definitely a worthwhile adaptation. We meet a Newspaper reporter who's girlfriend demands him to be more daring. When an assignment comes up to go to the Amazon to prove that dinosaurs still exist (as was published in one of their stories) he volunteers himself. He soon learns through a diary that the dinosaurs do exist and that the explorer is potentially still lost there, so his daughter goes along too. Together they find themselves trapped in a strange land where dinosaurs actually do roam free and danger is lurking everywhere. They made the dinosaurs move using stop-motion effects and they even have several dino duels! Some of the effects yes look a little cheesy but consider the time and what they did manage to accomplish and it's very damned impressive! The story itself is winning and interesting, it has cool looking dinosaurs, and it's very short and easy to digest, an absolute must for sci-fi/adventure fans!
