Review:
This was a heck of a lot of fun, especially for a film that makes no bones about being similar to "Jaws". I think the humor here makes this an entirely different experience, that and the fact that this one is quite a bloodbath. The piranhas are from an experimental military site that a female detective (I think she was) and a mountain man set free not knowing what they were doing. These piranhas multiply faster, are more bloodthirsty and aggressive and now they are all over the beach. It just happens to be having it's free swim weekend of course and mountain man happens to have a daughter in camp on the lake too. Nobody believes the piranhas but by the time they do will it be too late? This goes where you'd think it would dare not including a scene at the summer camp I will never forget. It's colorful, full of classic fish nods and gags and yet it's full of violence. Definitely a fun little number that often needlessly gets passed by.
