Review:
That's right, this gigantic saga had a beginning and it's a pretty darned good one too. We learn the story of Jason Voorhees who drowned back in the 50's during summer camp at Crystal Lake. The camp closed down but years later it's deemed safe and that is where we sort of begin. As we all know teens come in (including a young Kevin Bacon) and are bumped off one by one, some in creative fashions but most are simply machete. There is a bit of a twist ending that you likely already know about, but in case you don't you might as well find out for yourself. The acting is actually quite well done, especially Betsy's character. It's not brilliant but I can't say that word applies to any of the Jason movies, still it's a must see for buffs and heck it's reasonably well done. It's also got a few fun deaths and the mood is properly set, definitely the best in this series.
