Review:
Though I saw this as a kid and got little out of it, I can say I appreciated this film way more as an adult despite it's surrealistic fairy tale feel. It's about a girl named Jennifer who is attending a Private school in Sweden (her father is a famous man). Jennifer has a sleeping disorder that causes her to sleepwalk, though something even weirder is going on as she learns she can communicate with insects. The other girls and the Headmistress of the school seem evil, they intercept her letter home and taunt her mercilessly. Also on her mind is the fact that a serial killer is hunting young girls from her school at night, and since she sleepwalks she would make a very easy target. It's beautifully filmed, and well Jennifer Connolly wasn't the greatest actress at the time, but she suited the role very well. The film does have it's share of surprises and blood making it a very creative and intriguing venture. I just felt like you have to be patient with it (which I likely wasn't willing to do in my youth) but it is rewarding and visually appealing. Definitely worthwhile, especially for Italian Horror fans.
