Review:
To be noted that this is a comedy and a musical first and foremost, with small horrific elements. The musical word can be frightening for horror fans, but it shouldn't be here, this is about a musical being made in a theatre in a most unorthodox way, and in the midst of this is a hilarious commentary on the glam rock of the time. In this case our Phantom is clearly a parody of Randy Newman, and he gets maimed in a freak accident, then is forced to write an opera and so on and so forth. Seriously some surreal imagery with mirrors and it was done in a Kubrick sort of style, highly recommended although it will likely only appeal to those who are in on the glam rock and horror jokes. It's a cute little twist on a classic, and it's really tons of fun!
