Review:
So this is a cute little Hammer picture that is actually rather surprising...that is providing you are very careful to not find out the "secret". In other words, don't look this up, you can keep reading because I'm not going to tell but even the box kind of gives it away. Anyhow it's about a young couple that moves into a strange town where the people are rather unfriendly and nobody will tell them anything. The people that are nice to the couple often end up dying of "the black plague" a mysterious way to die really. Of course they start to investigate and things aren't even close to what they thought. The scenery is lovely here, and the effects well they are a little lame but definitely a good try. The story itself is fun and captivating despite the lack of action and gore. It's really easy to watch and it pays off enough to entertain most folks, just remember it is a bit dry but the character actors and it's sense of humor make it quite a bit of fun.
