Review:
Truly this film didn't need to be remade, but at least they did a pretty darned good job considering. Somehow it lost that gritty creepy feeling, and it's not nearly as frightening. Instead it seemed to up the blood ante, and it added in more character development which is okay but let's face it, the original is still better although this was better than expected. Here of course same thing we have a group of teens who have just scored drugs in Mexico who pick up a hitchhiker who warns them to turn back. Of course they don't listen, she shoots herself, and the end up in a strange old town filled with weirdos and of course Leatherface and his family of cannibals. He chases them around and kindly dismembers them with graphic detail so if it's blood you seek this should keep you happy. It follows very much the same plot as the original with just a few minor tweaks. I'd definitely tell you to watch the original first, but truthfully this was fun to watch too.
