Review:
Although this has the word "horror" in the title as you probably already know there isn't much horror in this at all. It's more of an alternative musical with cross dressing and aliens. The music numbers in this are among the best I've heard and heck you already know them too I'm sure. The story is classic, a young Janet (Susan Sarandon who denies being in this film hilariously) and Brad get engaged and then stuck out in the rain. They end up at this creepy old mansion where they are welcomed with several songs and some debauchery. It's a weird sleazefest that appeals to so many (myself included) but it's the elaborate sets and Tim Curry that also make the movie. Tim plays a bisexual who has created the perfect specimen (ala Frankenstein) but problems arise when he seems more interested in Janet. It really does go on from there with absurdity and a huge helping of fun. Something that must be seen, many times and often!
