Review:
Somehow I watched this with my husband before and completely forgot ever having watched it. When I put this in the lead character looked familiar but that's about it. I must have been really sick at the time because this was one unforgettable experience! Actually I'd go so far as to say that "A Nightmare On Elm Street" was patterned after this film in many ways. It's about a young lad we meet as he's trying to drown himself. He ends up with amnesia in a hospital (a mental hospital) with a woman (who even resembles Nancy from the Elm Street series) that empathizes with him. Turns out that this young lad actually has the power to make others see what he wants them to see through nightmares. The thing is that the nightmares are so dangerous they have the power to claim lives! Also in the mix is the young lad's mother who thinks her son is Jesus. This does have blood in it and some cool deaths and freakish nightmares, the story is well written and the dialogue is actually quite witty and entertaining. The effects are well done, and it's quite an inventive tale (even if it echoes "Patrick" a bit). Definitely one any horror fan should go out of their way to watch!
