Review:
I saw this as a kid and I quite liked it, but now having just seen this again as an adult I think I appreciate it even more! This is everything a Christmas horror movie should be, and then some and yes this movie caused quite an outrage! We meet little Billy and his family who are visiting catatonic Grandpa at a home. Little Billy is left alone with Grandpa who warns him that Santa punishes bad behavior which of course freaks the kid out. Then on their way home the family is massacred by a guy in a Santa suit (while little Billy hides) so you can see how Billy may be a little erm hateful towards Christmas. He is raised by Nuns in a boys home and forced to be around Santa even though he hates it! Then we get to meet Billy in his late teens early '20s and he's working in a stock room in a toy store (of course). What's awesome is you get actual shots of a toy store and the toys in it from the early '80s...so many things I used to have or wanted as a kid...seriously extreme nostalgia there! Anyhow they make Billy play Santa and then he catches people being naughty and he's pushed over the edge! I love the serious nature of this film (it's no comedy) and it has boobs, gore, extreme sledding violence (awesome) and well there's never a dull Christmas moment. Clearly this is the champion of Christmas horror....it should sleigh you! (I couldn't resist).
