Review:
This was pretty much exactly what was expected, a PG style horror film with comic book style violence and suffering. It's cute, got a sense of humor and it was a very simple mindless watch, and sometimes that's exactly what the doctor ordered. I think if I'd seen this as a kid I've had appreciated it even more, but as was I was pleasently amused. The story revolves around an alien lifeform that was just found that tastes delicious, it's low in fat and it's addictive. It's marketed as "The Stuff" and we get to see plenty of campy fun advertisements for it and of course we get to see "The Stuff" rebel. It seems it varies from person to person but it turns the victim into a foamy zombie like thing...most of the time. Anyhow it's one of the most popular snacks of course so nearly everyone is affected. Not our hero though, a young boy who saw "The Stuff" moving, and won't eat it. He even goes so far as to sabotage a grocery store in a really fun scene trying to rid the world of "The Stuff". When he hooks up with some researchers and non-Stuffies (seriously) they start trying to rid the world of "The Stuff". As I said earlier at least you know exactly what to expect from this and it pays off accordingly, a fun way to waste 85 minutes!
