Review:
I don't know if I am just naturally drawn to tales of misunderstood teens and their tales of revenge or what but I really liked this one. It's got a sense of humor to it, and it has some good death scenes...what more could one ask for? Okay so it does lack a little in the originality department, and if you don't like straightforward '80s cable style horror films you likely won't like this one. Still it does offer a bit of a surprise and it's very easy to get through and it has some personality and Karen Black! Well the plot is simple, Megan is sort of a goth, and folks at school pick on her. She and her mother (a wonderfully campy Karen Black) move into this house which has an evil mirror in it. It starts to take over Megan and gives her power to exact revenge on those who've irritated her. The problem is that things get even more out of hand, and even her lone friend is no longer safe! Sure it's a little contrived but it's a real fun viewing experience and it does have a little something for everyone. It also knows when to end the film and at no point was I anything but entertained. It's certainly not even close to scary, but horror/comedies rarely are, this is definitely recommended if you haven't yet given it a viewing. I've seen this one at least four or five times and I still enjoy it, so that's a pretty good feat!
